To keep the use of landfill sites to a minimum and to keep a clean and green environment, we encourage you to reduce, reuse and recycle as much as possible.
Below are the items that can be put in each box. Where possible, lids/tops should be removed from plastic bottles and all containers and bottles should be rinsed out. Please squash down containers where applicable to ensure that we can collect the maximum volume of recyclable material, and please try to flatten cardboard so we can collect more on each round.
Please separate recyclables in the boxes but do not place them in plastic bags. When putting your recycling out for collection, please use the nets provided in order to stop the contents blowing away in the wind and gulls getting access.

You can recycle the following items in your two boxes:

Box 1

- Paper, including Yellow Pages, junk mail, all types of envelopes and shredded paper
- All empty plastic bottles
- Margarine tubs
- Yogurt pots
- Ice cream tubs
- Clear plastic fruit containers
- Food tins and drink cans (with widgets are fine and rinsed)
- Aerosols
- Clothes and shoes (plus textiles, such as sheets and towels) – must be kept dry
- Car batteries
- Household batteries
- Ink Cartridges
No Thanks
- Black plastic containers
- Plastic film e.g. cling film, plastic shopping bags and crisp packets
- Non packaging plastic eg toys, washing up bowls and plant pots
- Plastic used to contain medical, garden or garage materials
- Polystyrene


Box 2
Yes Please
- Tin foil dishes and tin foil
- Mixed glass, bottles and jars (rinsed)
- All cardboard (flattened and folded if large)
- Spectacles
- Engine oil (must be in a sealed container)
- Cooking oil (must be in a sealed container)
- Mobile phones
- Tetra Paks e.g Orange juice cartons


To ensure your recycling is collected please leave your box:
- Out for collection on the same day as your food waste bin
- Out by 6am. The collections start early and pick up times may vary
- At the edge of your property, by the pavement. We cannot collect it if it is in a porch, side access, or behind a wall
Please separate items in the boxes, but do not separate items using plastic bags.
Please use the nets provided, as it will prevent the items blowing away and will keep your street clean and tidy.
