Torbay Children's Workforce Strategy

Torbay’s Children’s Workforce Strategy sets out the aspirations for the whole children’s workforce across the Bay, from Teachers to Childminders, Health Visitor’s to Police Officers, people working in a paid or voluntary capacity, indeed anyone who’s role engages them with children, young people and their families.
The purpose of this strategy is to develop good quality integrated and consistent children services in order to improve outcomes for children, young people and families in Torbay.
The key challenge for the Workforce Strategy is joining up services and improving communication across sectors. To deliver our vision we must work together to strengthen our workforce by providing training opportunities, career development and flexible career pathways between sectors to meet both the workforce needs and the demands of new ways of working.
The strategy has been put together by the Workforce Development Task Group, with the authority of the Children’s Trust, who have overall responsibility for the collective workforce serving children and young people in Torbay.
