Data Protection - Subject Access Request

To make a subject access request you need to:
You can appoint someone to act as an agent to make the request on your behalf.  If you want to do this  you will need to complete the authorisation of agent form and provide proof of their identity.
Please return the completed form(s); enclose the fee (cheques payable to Torbay Council); proof of identity (for example, your birth certificate, driving licence etc.  These will be returned to you) and send to:
Information Compliance, Town Hall, Castle Circus, Torquay, TQ1 3DS

What happens when I have made a subject access request?

Upon receiving a valid subject access request, Torbay Council will acknowledge your request.  We may contact you in order to clarify the information you are requesting or request further details from you to enable us to locate it.  From the date of receiving a valid request, we are legally obliged to provide you with the information you are entitled to within 40 calendar days unless an exemption applies.
