Control of Norovirus

Norovirus, commonly known as the "winter vomiting virus", is a virus which spreads very quickly from person to person or via food. It causes symptoms of projectile vomiting and often diarrhoea. It can be particularly prevalent in premises where there are large groups of people for example hotels, residential homes and nurseries.
If you think you may have an outbreak of Norovirus in your premises you need to inform the Food Safety Team using the contact details on the right. There are also very useful guidance booklets in the related documents section below, which will give you lots of information on controlling the spread of Norovirus.
