Schools Admissions Policies

Consultation is ClosedThe Government has published a new School Admissions Code as part of the Education Act 2011.  This Admissions Code requires all admission authorities to consult on their admission arrangements whenever they change.  Because the Code is new, all admission authorities have had to change their admission arrangements for 2013-2014.  All Voluntary Aided schools, Foundation schools and Academies are their own admission authority.  Some of these admission authorities are undertaking their own consultation and you can see it on their school's web site.  Torbay Council is consulting on behalf of many of the admission authorities in Torbay, as well as on its own behalf as the admission authority for Community and Voluntary Controlled schools in Torbay.
We would like to know your views if you are:
At the end of the consultation period your comments will be passed to each admission authority for them to consider before they finalise their arrangements in mid-April.  From 1 May 2012 all finalised admission arrangements for schools in Torbay will be on Torbay Council's web site, together with details of how to object to the Schools Adjudicator if you think any of the final arrangements are unfair.
If you want to talk to someone about the admission arrangements please phone Tricia Harwood at Torbay Council on 01803 208245.
If you would like a paper copy of any admission arrangements please phone Torbay Admissions Team on 01803 208908 or email school.admissions@torbay.gov.uk
This consultation closed on Thursday 1 March 2012.
The following schools asked the public for their comments on their new admissions policies.
